Meet Our School Council

Michelle Abbasi —

This newsletter we introduce Jasmine Murray, Maia Lythe, Nabiha Eliyas and Saskia Van Beurden.

Jasmine Room 9 Class Councillor: I'm half Samoan and half Maori.  I used to play netball and rugby.  I enjoy drawing and sketching in my free time.  We have family gatherings in the weekends which is fun.

Maia Room 17 Class Councillor: I am 13 years old.  Firstly, I was born in Warkworth. My whole family are very sporty and we all have our own individual talents that we are proud of.  My dad was in the Warriors when he was in his twenties and thirties.  My mum is sadly in a wheelchair after an accident which broke her back. She was a very good runner and would run for miles everyday.  My sisters are all runners and so am I. I play lots of other sports as well.

Green grass and a ball is all I need to be entertained for hours. Soccer is one of my favourites, learning new tricks and skills to make me a better footballer.  Pushing through weeds as I run down the Arataki track with my running group is so much fun.  Cooling off after at the beach or at a water hole is so refreshing after a big hard session.  Laughing with my friends is great, my friends never fail to make me laugh, and always make me feel better when I am down.  As long as I have my sport, friends and my family I am content with my life.

Nabiha Room 19 Class Councillor:  On the weekends I like to volunteer my time to work at Kiwi Valley farm because I enjoy spending time with all the animals.  In my spare time I like watching movies and TV shows on Netflix. I also really enjoy spending time with my family like going to the park or beach and playing with my little baby brother.

Saskia Room 29 Class Councillor:  Here is a bit about me and what I enjoy outside of school. I love dancing, I go to Rhythm and Steps in Glen Eden and I do Jazz and Ballet there. I also enjoy playing piano and I take lessons at school.
