PETRIFICATION

Petrification is a visceral dark blue,

Tastes like all the moisture in your mouth dissipating and turning it dry and stale,

Smells of food burnt into a coiled up crisp,

Looks like the middle of the ocean in the dead of night alone,

Sounds like a babbling incoherent bellow deep in the woods,

Feels like the tensing of your muscles when adrenaline surges.

That, is petrification.
