Sports Camp - Lessons Learnt & Improvements

Vaimoana Vaai —

I learnt that you can't always be the best in the team but you have to work together and communicate well

Article By: Jacob Story

Sports camp is a great week full of sports, you play all sorts of things and even figure out your talent in some sports you have never even heard of. I was lucky enough to attend gladiators sports camp in both year 7 and 8 and played a wide variety of sports.

The trainings are very intense working up to the actual camp and you are pushed to your absolute limits. Things are alway going to be tough, both years I was there it was not easy and hearing runners up glen eden sports camp 2019 was devastating we always aim for a win but then going to sports camp in years 8 we all came together really well and left everything we had on that court and it was enough to give us first place.

A few things I learnt that you can't always be the best in the team but you have to work together and communicate well because you will find out that you can't always do it by yourself. I also learnt every sport counts even the smallest things going all the way down to darts, those sports count and you need to give it your all in everything your doing.

My advice for you guys wanting to go is give it your all in trails and communicate well because Ms Va'ai and Mr Will won't just look at your skill but your attitude and commitment towards that sport, just give it your all and prove to them that you are someone who deserves to go to sports camp!
