Sports Camp is a week of competitive sports at Totara Springs Park with other schools from around the Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato region. The teams compete in over 20 sports and these range from rugby, netball, volleyball to petanque, chess and croquet and so much more.

It is highly competitive and GEIS puts in a lot of hard work to prepare our teams for this competition. We have been going to the Sports Camp for 14 years we have won 11 titles, placed second twice and third once.

When the teams are selected we expect our students to be 100% committed to our training programme. We have most of our training sessions at 7.30am or during lunchtimes at GEIS.

There are over 350 students trialing for Sports Camp and it is important for parents/caregivers to understand that we only have 36-38 positions available in each team, so not every student trialing will be selected. We are looking for students who are all rounders, they are capable across 2-3 different codes, maintain a good level of fitness, have a willingness to work hard, display the GEIS values, are up to date with their school work and show a commitment to our trainings.

Sports Camp Teams for 2019

Our three teams for Sports Camp at GEIS are the Gladiators, Warriors and Spartans.

GLADIATORS Sports Camp date: 24th - 28th June (Totara Springs Park, Matamata)

WARRIORS Sports Camp date: 1st - 5th July (Totara Springs Park, Matamata)

SPARTANS Sports Camp date: 5th - 9th August (Totara Springs Park, Matamata)

By giving your child permission, you are aware of the commitment required and the cost for Sports Camp
