Introducing Piha Mini School Class and Vice Councillors for 2020.

Congratulations to the students who were elected from Rooms 9 -16 to represent Piha mini school on the school council this year. Read to find out a little more about them.

Room 9:  Heidi Aranui - Class Councillor

I am Maori and live with my parents and an older sister.  We have one cat named Princess.  I love to play every sport that I can.  My favourites are rugby and tag.  I spent alot of time training and keeping fit.  I love how many opportunities there are at GEIS.

Riley Hall-Meyer - Vice Councillor

I'm a Year 8 in Room 9.  I play rugby for Waitemata.  I play first five and have to train alot.  I like to hang out with my friends and go bike riding. I have two younger sisters.  I went to Henderson Valley school.  I love doing Hard Materials at GEIS.

Room 10: Amaria Williams - Class Councillor

Kia ora. My name is Amaria, or some call me Ama and I am honoured to be the Class Councillor in Room 10 this year. In my spare time I love to spend as much time with my friends and whanau. I also love to make new friends and meet new people because I am a very sociable person. I have always really enjoyed playing and learning a range of different sports, I think that sports are very fun. My goal for 2020 was to help students across the whole school and make the most of my last year at GEIS by getting involved in as much as I possibly can. 

Lila Little - Vice Councillor

My name is Lila, and I am the Vice-Councillor for Room 10. I love baking, Disney+ and I read A LOT. I don’t like sports much, but I love going for walks and runs with my dog Margo. I also have a cat Thunder, whom I share with my younger sister Emmie. I would say I’m a pretty interesting and funny person.  My goal this year was just to be the best I can be in every possible way, always put my best foot forward, and have a great work ethic.

Room 11: Tayla Rose Mose - Class Councillor

Hi my name is Tayla, I am Class Councillor for Room 11.  I play a lot of sports.  My favourite is netball.  I like cooking and hanging out with my friends.  I like GEIS because there are a lot of opportunities to do different things.  My favourite subject is art.

Arlo Lorien-King - Vice Councillor

My name is Arlo Lorien-King and I am the Vice Councillor for Room 11 2020. My favourite subjects at school are writing, sound arts, and food technology. I love to write stories and songs and listen to music. At the moment I am learning to play guitar and I am part of the school production.

Room 12: Daniel Hoskin - Class Councillor

Kia Ora, I am Class Councillor for Room 12 for 2020. In my free time I like to go outside and kick a ball around, spend time with my family and friends, play the guitar, and sometimes play on my IPad. Sometimes I go to my local beach French bay with friends and family. I also play for some clubs, I play soccer for Bay Olympic, and play cricket for Suburbs.

Olivia Rasyidi - Vice Councillor

Kia ora, my name is Olivia, I’m a Year 8 here at GEIS, and the Vice Councillor for Room 12. In my free time, I love drawing, painting, cooking, listening to music, spending time with family, playing sports, and hanging out with my friends. My out of school activities involve Aikido, Maths, and piano.

Room 13: Corey Hulls - Class Councillor

Hi, my name is Corey, I’m 13 years old. I’m a Year 8, and I’m the Class Councillor for Room 13. I like to make games online, and most of the games are kind of popular. I also like to do 3D modeling, writing, and also cooking. I’m the middle child out of 2 other siblings. In my spare time, I like to play video games with my friends and my siblings. I have 3 friends (Nat, Michael, and Naite), and they are all really kind, I’m really lucky to have friends like them. I’m glad to be a Class Councillor, and I wished to make our school a more fun and better school to learn.

Isobella Evanson - Vice Councillor

Kia ora, I’m Isobella or Izzy. I am a Year 8. I’m 12 years old. I play football for West Auckland football club. Some of my favourite things to do in my spare time is play football with my family at home and at school with friends. I also enjoy reading alone and listening to music. I am the middle child out of 4 half siblings and 1 step sister. I love spending time in the kitchen with my nana creating all sorts of meals. I am happy to be a vice councillor so I can help make GEIS fun and memorable for everyone and to make the transition easier from Primary to Intermediate.

Room 14:  Hannah Cormack Neto - Class Councillor

Hi, my name is Hannah I am 12 years old. I love to play football and I play for a girls team. I also love to go to the skate park to practise my scooter tricks. I like baking with my family when I have spare time on the weekends. When I have nothing to do I like to organise my room or the whole house. 

Hananya Ravichandar - Vice Councillor

Hi, my name is Hananya and some of my hobbies are marketing as in baking treats at home and selling them at places like parks, schools near malls and public places. I wished to fundraise more money and make our school a fun and better place to learn. I want my class and school to have a healthy learning lifestyle. I also like to read books and write my own stories.

Room 15: Lewys Evans - Class Councillor

Hi, as you know my name is Lewys, and I am the Class Councillor for Rm 15 2020. I love to play football, and I practise and train a lot. I enjoy all sports and sometimes enter interschool sports. At home, I like to play Lego and be creative with things like arts and crafts. As a Year 8 Class Councillor, I would've like to provide an example to and support the new Year 7s. I would like to guide them through their learning at GEIS and make sure that they know that, as class councillors, we are here to help them and encouraged their feedback.

Charlie Moore - Vice Councillor

Hi, my name is Charlie and I am Room 15’s Vice Councillor for 2020. I think I am a very motivated person, and I hope I can use that attribute to help improve Glen Eden Intermediate School. I am also willing to listen to people’s different ideas, and try to use those ideas to make the school a better learning environment.

In my spare time I enjoy writing, reading, hanging out with my best friends, playing on my Xbox, and composing music on my keyboard.

I wanted to be a part of the school council because I think I would make a good contributions to the team, and because I understand the responsibilities that come with the role. I hoped to make GEIS an even better school than it already is.

Room 16: Arnav Maharaj - Class Councillor

In my free time I like to play games on my Switch and PS4, I am also quite nerdy. I'm really into Star Wars, and I think that Turtles are the greatest things on this planet.  As a Student Councillor, I would like to strive to become a good one. 

Sabhadha Webb - Class Councillor

I am 12 years old.  I have two younger sisters and a pet dog named Iggy.  I am in the swimming school and do high diving.  I do surf life saving at Karekare or Piha.  I like to hang out with my friends and spend time with my family.
