Last week we received the incredibly sad news that our former student Portia De Luen had passed away as the result of a tragic drowning incident at Karekare Beach.  Portia and her twin sister were students at GEIS in 2017/18.  Described by her teachers as a popular, talented student, Portia was actively involved all areas of school life.  She will be especially remembered for her kindness to others.   Portia's acceptance of diversity and her willingness to support fellow students, who found school challenging, made her a remarkable student.  She will be forever loved and greatly missed.
