The student leadership team attended the National Young Leaders at the Vodafone Events Centre. It was a great opportunity for our hardworking young leaders to hear how they can make a difference.

The event was attended by young leaders across Auckland.  The theme of the day was 'Stronger Together'.  'Ehara taku toa I te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini' My strength is not due to me alone, but due to the strength of many.  It reinforced the idea that as a team of people, working together we can achieve more. 

Our students listened to inspirational speakers including Cam Calkoen (Inspirational Speaker and Former Athlete), Brooke Nea (Former New Zealand Hockey Player and Olympian), Shay Wright (Social Entrepreneur, Innovator and Futurist) and Benny Tipene (Musician and Support Worker).  Our leaders set themselves goals and recorded how they could use ideas and quotes from speakers to make a difference.  We look forward to seeing how our student leaders will apply what they learned in our school and when working with our student councillors.  A totally inspiring day!
