On Tuesday 13th August the GEIS Western Zone cross country team competed at Crum Park against 10 other schools.

It was a true cross country running track with hills, rain and mud however this did not stop our team competing and giving 100%. The GEIS students showed resilience and perseverance to gain some top placings to go through to the Auckland champs cross country running event. 

GEIS gained the following placings: 

Year 7 Girls

 1st   Charlotte Greaves;   2nd Niva Smith;   6th Shanae Swinburne 

Year 8 Girls

1st  Maia Lythe;   3rd  Ruby Farquhar;   5th  Jenna Hall

Year 7 Boys 

1st Isaac Gear;  2nd Luka Schaefer;  4th Jacob Story 

Year 8 Boys

1st Carlos Campen;   2nd Ben Wanden-Hannay;   4th Jacob Hewitt 

GEIS won all 4 team events and will represent us at the Inter-zone day to be held at the A and P Showgrounds in Pukekohe on Tuesday 3rd September.
