NETBALL WAITAKERE UPDATES

*UPDATE*- Tuesday 25th Aug, 11AM

Following the government announcement today, the below advisement applies to the delivery of Community Netball as of 24 August 2020.

- All Auckland Super City Centres will remain at COVID Alert Level 3 until 11.59am on Sunday 30 August.

All Netball activity for Netball Centres in the Auckland Super City area is postponed.

Netball New Zealand guidelines:

• No organised Netball activity.

• All events and competitions postponed, on hold or cancelled.

• All trainings, programmes, activities on hold – (except on an individual basis or within designated bubble or online)

• All workshops and meetings to be conducted online.

• NNZ, Zone and Centre offices and facilities closed.

• All staff and volunteers work from home.

From Monday 31 August - All Auckland Super City Centres will move to COVID Alert Level 2, under revised Level 2 Guidelines.

The most significant change to the revised Level 2 guidelines is the change to Gathering restrictions. The restrictions that apply to Auckland Super City Centres under the revised restrictions are a limit of 10 people per gathering.

We understand this government announcement is disappointing and will be hard for Auckland Centres and their members who are keen to get back on the court and restart netball. However with the restriction to gatherings limited to 10 people, this makes the management of netball activity untenable and therefore ALL activity for Netball Centres in the Auckland Super City area remains postponed until 11.59pm Sunday 6 September.

We will continue to advise you of any changes, as the government makes further updates prior to Sunday 6 September.

In attempt to avoid this competition continuing through term 3 holidays or through to term 4, we have decided that there will be a mini tournament to conclude this competition. 

INT Schools Competition Format:

*Wed 2nd September Round 1, Game 5 CANCELLED 

*Wed 9th September Round 2, Game 1 CONFIRMED 

*Wed 16th September Round 2, Game 2 CONFIRMED 

*Sunday 20th September Tournament – 

Games 3, 4, 5 + Finals (1v2 only) CONFIRMED 

Please note: As we will still be in level 2, it is important that we comply with the restrictions that come with it. 

This will mean that our number of supporters will need to be reduced. 

This means that one parent/caregiver per player

Reminder: Please continue to take the necessary hygiene precautions and sanitise wherever possible. If anyone is sick, please ensure they stay home
