G.E.I.S CHROMEBOOK DEVICES

Matt Balchin —

Due to the current covid-19 situation, GEIS has decided to allow students who borrow a school-owned device to be able to take them to and from school for the remainder of their time at GEIS.

This is so that your child may continue their learning at home after school hours and if they need to work at home. We provide this device in good faith that it is returned in the condition that it is received.

Please take good care when transporting and using this device at all times. These devices have safe filtering 24/7 and personal accounts are unable to be set up on them. If you are not happy with this device being taken to and from school by your child please let us know. The devices will be collected back early in December to check any damages and missing items.

Please follow all the guidelines below.

Getting Started:

  • Enroll the device on your home wifi

  • GEIS students can log in only with their school username and password. If your child has forgotten their password - please email your child's class teacher as they can look it up or change it if need be.

Use Guidelines:

  1. Do not damage this device in any way

  2. Transport the device with special care to/from school

  3. Use of the school device is for the purpose of learning only

  4. Use only the student GEIS account - do not attempt to add any other accounts

  5. Do not attempt to bypass GEIS systems in any way

  6. Do not attempt to install software or reset this device in any way

  7. Remember that all internet traffic under this account is monitored and filtered by the school

  8. The device and charger must come back in the condition it is received in - any current damages have been already noted and are kept on file

  9. Please note that all Chromebooks are GPS tracked and serial numbers have been recorded.

  10. Please report any accidental damages or otherwise immediately to Matt Balchin by email matthewb@geis.school.nz as soon as possible.

  11. Parents will receive a bill for any damages or missing items.
