Auckland Theatre Company visits Piha Mini School

Piha Mini School was witness to a stand-out performance by the Auckland Theatre Company this week. As part of the Mythmakers series currently touring schools, it was a performance based on the Myths and Legends of Mahuika; the grandmother of the demi-god Māui.

Students were both intrigued and captivated by the action and movement of the performance; at times becoming involved due to its interactive nature. It incorporated many themes such as revenge and forgiveness, bravery and fear.

A fantastic learning experience of live theatre delivered in both Te Reo Maori and English.
