Principal's Message

Maree Stavert —

Today we joined with others across New Zealand in observing a 2 minute silence to remember those who lost their lives last Friday in Christchurch.  It has certainly been a week of mixed emotions as we carried out our normal routines, but with the tragedy always on our minds.   There has been a constant feeling that we need to do something to express our support and compassion for all who have suffered.  Participating  in Colour your Day and collecting a koha felt like a good fit for our school.

GEIS values and celebrates the cultural diversity within our school and our country.  We can only hope that this tragedy, that we have all shared, continues to bring us closer as a nation, so that we can build a better tomorrow for our tamariki.

As-salamu alaykum ( Peace be upon you)
