Goat Island Dive & Snorkel

As an EOTC activity students from Te Henga Mini School have the opportunity to take part in a snorkel lesson and guided tour with Goat Island Dive and Snorkel Dive Masters.  Students are learning about water safety, entering and exiting the water, the importance of having a "buddy", identifying water hazards, and how to eliminate and plan for them. Students also learn about the benefits of marine preservation, what they can do to help the environment, and the need for protected reserves such as Goat Island. This first hand experience provides the students with a great understanding of the ocean environment.
