Principal's Message

Maree Stavert —

Earlier this month I had the privilege of travelling to visit our sister school in Bangkok, Thailand with a group of 13 GEIS students and our International Student director, Lesley King. We have enjoyed this  cultural exchange with Satit Chula school for the past nine years and the connections and learning experienced by our students and our Thai friends is very special.  The generosity and friendliness shown by our hosts was very humbling.  Learning about Thai culture has certainly helped our group to better understand how hard it must be for our Thai international students to adjust to the 'kiwi' culture when they come to stay in NZ.   All in all, I was very proud of the way our students represented their families and country during this trip.  We look forward to offering another group of  students the opportunity to visit our sister school in Fukuoka, Japan next year.

Meanwhile, we are certainly counting down the days until the end of the term.  We have a busy three weeks ahead of us, so make sure you check out the 'Dates for your Diary' section to ensure you know what is coming up.

Ngā mihi nui
