Beautifying the Te Henga Gardens

This term a group of people did gardening extension led by Miss Johnson and a wonderful parent helper Toni. During this session; we renovated the gardens in front of Te Henga Learning Area 2. We also went down to the bird walk and picked up rubbish. Along the way, we found a rat skull. We left the gardens looking immaculate in all possible ways. Special thanks to Mitre 10 and Bunnings New Lynn for donating plants and bags of soil to make the gardens spectacular and colourful.

Mitre 10 New Lynn and Bunnings New Lynn kindly provided us with plants to use for our Ako! Our Ako was redoing all the gardens in front of the Te Henga classrooms. Thanks to their plants and our gardening skills all the classroom gardens look amazing! This opportunity was so fun and memorable! If I got the chance to do this again I definitely would. Thank you as well to Mrs Johnson for running this ako and Toni for helping us with gardening and informing us all about plants!

This term Mrs Johnson and Toni have led a gardening group. In this group we cleaned up the birdwalk, cleared out and planted fresh plants in four gardens in front of rooms 21, 22, 23 and 24. We planted Hebe, Flaxes, some ground covers and Yasmine climbing plants. When we first started we had major help-so we would like to thank Mitre 10 and Bunnings for helping us with sourcing plants and soil. We deeply appreciate it.  Now the gardens are flourishing and much more healthy.
