On Monday 20th November GEIS will be having a Teacher Only Day and school will not be open to students.
Kia ora whānau/parents/caregivers,
As a kura/school we are committed to engaging in and developing our teachers’ curriculum knowledge and implementation within the classroom to raise student engagement and achievement. To do this we are having a teacher-only day in Term 4 where school will be closed for instruction.
Monday 20th of November (Term 4 Week 7)
In alignment with our local primary schools there will be a teacher only day on Monday 20th November where school will be closed for instruction. This teacher only day will provide our kura/school with dedicated time to understand, prepare and engage with the redesign and changes in planning and assessing within the New Zealand Curriculum refresh. It is an opportunity for kaiako/teachers to share ideas and expertise, and to grow their confidence in implementing the upcoming curriculum and assessment changes.
We understand that teacher-only days can be tricky for working parents. Therefore we appreciate your support towards our commitment to ensure our teachers have access to quality professional development.
