A group of our rangatahi share their kōrero and work together to share to others.
A group of our tamiriki had the opportunity to take students to a writing workshop with Mr Noah Meggitt (previous GEIS Teacher) and a group of young Pasifika digital content creators.
Over the past two terms Mr Meggitt has been working with a small writing group of Māori students and yesterday they brought 8 schools together to talk about their journey and then created reels for their stories.
The students were taught about the power of media to portray their stories. These aspects were camera angles, lighting, music, what draws the audience in, story boarding (using their stories), voice overs, filming, editing.
Our students were confident with filming and editing and the large number of apps they could use. The CAPCUT app is something very familiar with the students and a very useful tool for editing. We all know that through media so many things can be captured and stories told in so many ways.
A BIG thank you to Mr Noah Meggitt for all his time and energy with this group.
