GEIS Board of Trustees update

Kia Ora Glen Eden Intermediate School Whanau,

 

This week I am thrilled to share some exciting updates about our school as we approach the end of the term four.

Firstly, we are pleased to announce that our four new Muriwai classrooms are on schedule to be completed by the end of this term. We can’t wait to welcome our tamariki and teachers into these new, dry, warm, and safe classrooms starting in 2025. Additionally, the next phase of our property development at GEIS will focus on our Karekare tower block, which will be re-clad and re-roofed to ensure it remains a comfortable learning environment. Also during the upcoming summer school holidays, we will also initiate a painting program to refresh various parts of the school.

 

Last Friday, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Principal Maree Stavert. We are immensely grateful for the dedication and energy she has poured into Glen Eden Intermediate as a Teacher, Deputy Principal, and Principal. Maree has made a lasting impact on our school community, and we thank everyone, staff and students alike for contributing to such a special celebration for her and her whanau.

 

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge our outstanding staff, whose dedication and effort consistently elevate the educational experience for our students. Their commitment to providing the best opportunities is truly commendable. As we approach the end of the term, they are managing numerous additional responsibilities, and as a board, we deeply appreciate their hard work and dedication!

 

Term 4 is shaping up to be a busy and vibrant time at GEIS, filled with events that showcase and celebrate our Tamariki’s talents and achievements. These events are also wonderful opportunities for our community to connect with the school. We invite you to join us at any of the upcoming celebrations. I am particularly looking forward to the Year 7 and 8 prize giving’s, where we can formally acknowledge our tamariki’s hard work and accomplishments.
