2024 Tongairio Tramp Success!

As part of our EOTC programme, the Tongariro Tramp group left on Monday 18 March to tramp the Tongariro crossing.
They successfully completed the Tongariro crossing on the Tuesday and were very excited about their achievement. GEIS had 45 students completing a moderately challenging 5.5hrs, which also included the Devil’s staircase.
Once they reached the top, there some breathtaking views, cheers and smiles all around with the overwhelming sense of achievement which was quite emotional.
The group also did some local area hikes, mountain biking, and white water rafting.
A big thank you to teachers Ms Stephenson and Ms Iti for leading and organising this awesome opportunity for our students. Also a BIG thank you to all our parents and whānau who came along on the tramp to support the group and everyone who contributed in one way or another.
