Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu - Adorn the bird with feathers so it may soar
On Monday of week 10 we had our first Māori Hui and Pasifika Fono where families and whānau gathered together to discuss the achievements of our Māori and Pasifika students and how we can work together to ensure positive pathways for our tamariki this year. We shared our Māori achievement plan and our Pasifika achievement plans, and gathered critical feedback on what future hui/fono and whānau connection might look like.
A big thank you to those who were able to make it. Thank you for your time, your dedication to our tamariki, your advice and expert knowledge. We'd also like to thank the staff who gave up their time to attend and support this kaupapa. The partnership between home and school plays a critical role in ensuring the academic success and emotional safety of our Māori and Pasifika students.
Finally, we offer a big thank you also to Mr Dowding and Miss Iti who led us with confidence and pride. Their mana, leadership and guidance is appreciated by all.
