Introducing our 2024 Student leaders

Jude HancockFebruary 26, 2024

At the end of 2023, the student leaders for this year were chosen. These students will lead the student council and various events throughout the year.

Uinise Maloelei
My name is Uinise and I am proud to be a student leader for you this year. I am in room 12 with Mr Keith and Mr Dowding. I am a full Tongan but was born in New Zealand. I have two sisters and one brother. The sport that I enjoy playing the most is tag. One thing that I would like to achieve as a student leader is speaking at Assemblies and leading the school in events. One thing that I would want people to know about me is that I am kind and always willing to help.

My family and I are from New Zealand, and I have two younger sisters. My hobbies include dance and netball, and I love doing lots of other sports. There are lots of opportunities at GEIS, so make sure you give everything a go. If you see me, make sure to say hi.

Kia Ora my name is Elke and I feel very lucky to be a part of the 12 student leaders for 2024. I’m excited to help people around the school and make a better learning and outdoor environment. I am from the Netherlands and New Zealand and have two siblings. I enjoy swimming, reading, writing, Skiing, listening to music, hanging out with friends and playing sports, especially field hockey and netball. I’m in room 25 Te Henga with the two best teachers, Miss Pirrit and Miss Heeringa. As a 2024 student leader, my goal is for all people to feel welcome and happy in Geis. If you see me around feel welcome to talk to me or just say hi.

Arielle Noronha

Talofa lava, my name is Arielle and I am honoured to be one of GEIS’ 2024 student leaders. I was born in the beautiful country of New Zealand—my mother is from Samoa and my dad, India. I enjoy reading, drawing, arts and crafts, and writing. A big motivation to join the student council was the encouragement I was given by my friends and my own desire. The moment Miss Hancock delivered the news to us twelve students was amazing, the seconds before it was like a crescendo of tension before the wave hit. A serendipitous occurrence for me. Now that I have earned the title, my goal is to make sure even the most timid of voices can be heard among a crowd who are willing to listen.
