Our Charter

So what is a Charter? Essentially the school charter is the guiding document that sets the scene of what the school is all about.

Welcome to our new school charter. Feel free to drop us a line if you have any great ideas as to how we can make our charter "come alive!"

So what is a Charter? Essentially the school charter is the guiding document that sets the scene of what the school is all about. It’s a document that could be seen as a bit short on details, but it is big on intent. It is reviewed every 3-4 years and our last one was written in 2017. We’ve taken elements of the last Charter and built on it, adding to it the things that we believe are important to us.

For us the next challenge is to make the Charter work. We don’t want it to be a document that sits on a dusty shelf and is only referred to when it’s time to write the next one in four years. We want it to be a document that will help shape the key decisions of our school through to 2021! Over the next few weeks in the newsletter we’ll highlight and discuss these key elements, or touchstones as we’re calling them.
