Gleniti School Newsletter 31st March 2021

Steve Zonnevylle - March 30, 2021

It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I’m sure that everyone is looking forward to the Easter break at the end of this week. Please remember that the school is closed for the Easter holiday on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. This confuses a lot of people, but it’s been happening in schools for years. Last week we ran two huge events. The Swimming Sports and the PTA Colour Walk/Run. Thank you to everyone involved in making both of these events such a great success. The results from the swimming sports can be found later on in the newsletter. Special mention to our Gleniti Swimming Champions for 2021. Many of our swimmers are away at the South Canterbury swimming sports today. No doubt they’ll do us proud.

Last Thursday we ran our Colour Walk. What an afternoon of fun! Our school Facebook pages were awash with colour! I’m sure that baths and showers were too once everyone got home J

Tomorrow from 1:30pm we will be running our Lip Sync competition. Parents are more than welcome to come along to watch. We have 14 classy acts all ready to lip sync their way across the stage. It’ll be a great way to finish off the week!

Congratulations to Flynn Turnbull who won the Hawkes Bay Junior Cycle Tour during the weekend. He took two firsts and a third to win overall.

He was also crowned the National road series U13 overall winner with combined wins over the last four rounds. What a fabulous achievement.

Well done to our Principal Award recipients from last week. Great work team! Special mention to our two Gleniti Archer in Action people: Sophie and Heath
