Gleniti Newsletter 19th February 2020

Steve Zonnevylle —

Thank you to all those families who used the Kea crossing on Spring Road last week. All up we had 951 students cross the crossing throughout the week. It was great to see so many positive faces crossing each day! Please continue to use the Kea Crossing. It is definitely the single best place to cross when coming to school and going home. We really encourage our parents to use Spring Road as their number 1 drop off and pick up spot. There’s plenty of room on Spring Road and the crossing – well it’s simply the best! It’s certainly great to see so many children finding an active way to come to school, whether it’s biking, scootering or walking. Nice work everyone! Just a reminder that students should always wear a helmet if they are biking or scootering. This is a really important message for us all. Helmets are literally lifesavers.

Meet the Teacher Parent Interviews for our Yr 3-8 students (Learning Teams 2,3 and 4) are set to run next Wednesday 26th February and Thursday 27th. These interviews are designed for parents who have students new to the class or Learning Team to meet their teachers. Interview times can be booked by going to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and entering the event code 43q67. Bookings close on Monday. As we have done in the past, the school will be closed on the Wednesday from 2:00pm. Thursday will be normal closing time at 3:00pm. We will be providing supervision at school from 2:00pm in the Staffroom on the Wednesday. If you can’t pick up your child/ren at 2:00pm and would like them to be supervised then please either fill out the form by following this link https://forms.gle/UA33g6oWYsemEfoU6 or simply phone the office ASAP.A huge thank you to all the families and whanau who came along to our Family Picnic last Thursday night. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best, but it was still great to see everyone’s smiley faces!

This is the first week that our weekly newsletter will go out almost entirely digital … maybe you’re reading this now via email, or from our Facebook page or Skool App.Please, for those people who don’t have email or access to the internet let us know and we’ll still print off a hard copy for you weekly Congratulations to all those students who received Principal Awards at our assembly last Friday.

Congratulations also to Ethan Nesbitt and Caleb Turner (this week’s cover stars) who were the first ever recipients of our new Archer in Action Awards. These awards are chosen by our house leaders who are busy every week looking for amazing examples of students living and breathing our ARCHER values!
