Adapting to sea level rise - we want to hear from you!

CCC —

Christchurch City Council is starting its adaptation planning programme in Whakaraupō-Lyttelton Harbour (and Koukourarata-Port Levy).

The Council will work with communities and rūnanga as well as a Coastal Panel of local people to plan now for the effects of coastal flooding, erosion and rising groundwater.

First, the Council wants to hear from you about what you value in this beautiful area, to ensure these plans reflect your values. Please take a few moments to provide your feedback by filling out this short survey: ccc.mysocialpinpoint.com.au/lhchap

The survey is open from Tuesday 25 October to Tuesday 6 December. Anyone under 18 years of age who completes this survey is in the draw for one of four $50 prezzy cards.

Outreach on the beach - join us for a "Beachinar"

The Council will be holding beach information sessions throughout November. This is a chance for you to bring your questions, share your knowledge and meet our experts to talk about the impacts of coastal hazards. There will be more details to come on times and beach locations, so keep an eye out!
