Changing our House Names

There has been some discussion recently around our houses and their names. The students were asked their thoughts and there was an overwhelming response that they would like to change the names, however we now need to come up with new suggestions.  The house colours are staying the same just the names are changing. 

The things we want to consider are:

• Local people that have been influential to Ōhinetahi and the Bay
• Destinations around the Bay with significant meaning
• Maori names of significance such as people, places connected to the Bay
• Other ideas that could connect to the Bay in relation to nature or geology

Each class are going to come up with their ideas and have them recorded, we will then make a decision based on the results. We will keep you posted.
