We will continue to do the Kiwi Kids News Quiz as a Kahoot, so encourage tamariki to take an interest in the news and current events. We will be learning to devise our own Kahoot quizzes too, as a way of checking on our learning.
Home Learning
Our Morning Oral Language Programme was a huge success and we would like to thank you all for the support and enthusiasm you brought to the ākongas’ preparation for this. We will be reverting to the normal system of Home Learning, giving it out on Mondays and expecting books in on Fridays for marking. House Points will continue to be awarded for thoroughly completed work and for achievement in the spelling test. As a general rule, 15 minutes of reading, revisiting the current set of basic facts cards and learning 10 spelling words for a test on Fridays is the norm. However, there may occasionally be other activities which relate to in class learning, or a task to be finished if children did not complete in class. We advise that books are returned to school bags every day as a strategy for ensuring they have it at school on Fridays. Please do use the Home Learning book as a way of communicating with us if it suits you. We are very understanding of how busy all our lives are and would appreciate a heads up if Home Learning cannot be completed for some reason.
