Nicky Vincent —

My name is Nicky Vincent (Ms Vincent). I will be your teacher for 2022. I am really looking forward to getting to know you and your families.

Welcome to Tūī Team, Term 4 2022!

I have been teaching for 20 years now and love to motivate children to become lifelong learners. I am engaged to Mike Donaldson, and we have a dog Esmē. I have 3 children: Jae, Libby and Sam who are all grown up and now working. In my spare time I love to run, cycle, mountain bike, ski, travel and enjoy the odd glass of wine and a bit of shopping every now and then. I also love to try new things.

I am excited to be part of your child’s educational journey. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and am looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure your child can achieve his/her potential.

Being new to school and Year 1 is the best! You will learn so many new things, become more independent and make some important decisions about your learning. There is a busy term ahead and we have some great learning planned for you for 2022. We will get into some great inquiry learning (that is when you ask questions about something you would like to know about). We will share some of our learning with your family and friends.

It is important to me that you are happy in our room and you love coming to school. I will work hard as your teacher to look after you and make sure you are interested and excited about what we are learning. Learning happens everywhere, not just in the classroom and it never stops. If you feel a little nervous on your first day, don’t worry, we will all very soon feel like we belong in the Tūī Team. We will become a team where we watch out for each other.

I look forward to seeing you very soon.

Kindest regards,

Nicky Vincent
