Nau mai haere mai! The people of Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke warmly invite the communities of Whakaraupō & the Port Hills to Rāpaki Marae to share an historic day together.

Along with Christchurch City Council we will also be welcoming new citizens with a Citizenship Ceremony.

Please check out our event times & activities below.

9:30am: Prepare visitors for pōwhiri (Koha collected at the gate)

10:00am: Pōwhiri i te reo Māori, followed by light refreshments

11:00am: Christchurch City Council Citizenship Ceremony / Guided walk around Rāpaki, waka paddling

12:30pm: Kapa Haka, local performers, more waka paddling, storytelling & kōrero on the Marae carvings

1:00pm: Hangi, live music & entertainment
