Walking School Bus 2021

Luke R —

Our walking school bus involves senior students being supervisors of a small group of tamariki walking in a group to school. Each 'bus' walks along a set route with at least one senior student 'driver' picking up children at designated 'bus stops' and walking them to school.

Kia Ora,

I hope you have had a great start to the year. We are going to start the Walking School Bus again on Wednesdays in Term 2 Weeks 2-9 (12th May-31st Jun).

We will be doing the same time and place as last year. Meeting at the grass patch on the bottom of The Terrace between 8:05am and 8:15am. The route will only be one way (in the mornings). Luke and Kate will be walking your child/children to school in a group of 1-7 as they live nearby.

We are also looking at extending the route to include a pick up at the top of Sandy Bay Road near the mailboxes or if it's easier at the bottom of Zephyr Tce between 8:10am and 8:20am. This route will only be one way (in the mornings).

Please email me with your child's name and pick up location if you are interested in being part of the Walking School Bus.

Please email me before 8:00am if your child/children will be away for the day. I will email you if the weather is going to be raining and we will just skip the route (for the day).

Thank you for helping us to reduce our carbon emissions.

Haere rā.

Luke
