NZ Maths Week

Ange Rayner —

Maths Week was established by the New Zealand Association of Mathematics Teachers (NZAMT) in 1998. It is a premier mathematics event in the New Zealand school calendar, gaining the attention of an estimated audience of more than 250,000 students, teachers and parents from around New Zealand in August each year. You can check out a number of fun games and ideas here: https://www.mathsweek.co.nz/

Daily Maths Challenge:

Look out for a new challenge each day on the notice board outside the office. Please encourage your child to have a go at the problems. There will also be two (at different levels) to attempt and you may even like to work them out together before school. Make sure the student pops their name on the post-it-note as a spot prize will be awarded each day.

Maths Parent Evening: date TBC

We are looking forward to hosting this later in the term. We will share a number of great maths game ideas with you. In the meantime check out this website for lots of ideas and activities that you can do with your tamariki at home.

I am also always happy to answer any questions you have about numeracy at our kura. So feel free to get in touch or pop in and see me.
