A big welcome to our Year 7 students and all the new arrivals in the other years.

I would like to welcome Mr Wilmshurst who has recently joined our music faculty. Mr Wilmshurst comes with a broad range of experience both in teaching music and as a music tutor.

This year in music, students will learn to read music in Western notation, play an instrument, discover its history and listen to a variety of music. The difference will be that each cohort will focus on different topics.

For this year:

• Year 7 students will focus on topics related to drums and piano.
• Year 8 students will focus on topics related to guitar and rock music.
• Year 10 Elective Music students will focus on topics related to 19th century music.

Google Classroom platform will continue to be used as a learning platform for all music classes. If students have any questions about their work, they can communicate with their teacher through this channel or come to see either Mr Wilmshurst or Ms Wong in the Music room during recess and lunch.

The Small Ensemble has resumed rehearsals during recess or lunch, and they are already sounding promising! Well done boys! However, we are looking for more students to join, if you are interested please see Ms Wong for details.

A reminder to all parents about the Creative Kids vouchers, the NSW Government based assistance program. Parents and carers can apply for a voucher with a value up to $100 per calendar year for each student aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled at school. These vouchers can be used to support your son's creative development.
