Australian Mathematics Competition
In early August this year, 45 students from GRC Hurstville Campus sat the Australian Mathematics Competition. School-based maths competitions do not get much bigger than the Australian Mathematics Competition - with students in more than thirty countries participating each year. The school-based competition asks students to solve thirty complex problems in seventy-five minutes and the problems get more challenging as the competition progresses. Congratulations to all students who participated in this competition!
Special congratulations to Terry Y. who achieved a High Distinction, which is awarded to students who are in the top 3% of their year in the region and Faraz M. who achieved Distinction, which is awarded to students who are in the top 20%.
As we wrap up this incredible year, we could not be prouder of the remarkable progress and achievements of our students in Mathematics. The hard work, dedication, and resilience shown by both students and staff have truly set a high standard.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians for your ongoing support. Here’s to an even more outstanding 2025!
Kind regards,
