As the year draws to a close, it's a perfect time to reflect on the incredible achievements of our wellbeing team in 2024.
One of the standout successes this year has been our Peer Support Program, which has gone from strength to strength. This program provided a structured opportunity for students to connect across year groups, fostering leadership, communication, and empathy. Younger students benefited from having older peers as mentors, while senior students developed their own leadership skills and built a strong sense of responsibility. The program created a safe and supportive environment where students could discuss important topics, build friendships, and develop skills that contribute to a positive school culture. Feedback from students and staff alike has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the deep sense of community and connection it brought to the school.
We also hosted engaging initiatives like Brainstorm Productions, delivering impactful presentations on resilience, kindness, and managing challenges, and embraced important conversations through R U OK Day, reminding everyone of the power of checking in with one another.
Our efforts have been validated by the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) student survey results, which showed a notable improvement in students' sense of belonging, with an increase of 8% since 2022. This reflects the ongoing impact of our work to ensure every student feels valued and included.
As we approach the holidays, I want to thank everyone for their dedication to supporting our students' wellbeing and wish our school community a safe and wonderful break. Remember to prioritise your own wellbeing, recharge, and enjoy this time with family and friends.
Here’s to an even brighter 2025!
