Year 10 Food Technology: Food Trends
Year 10 Food Technology students are diving deep into the world of food trends, exploring everything from local food produce to cutting-edge technology.
This term, Year 10 Food Technology students have been learning about the impact of social media on attracting consumers and creating new food habits. They have also been exploring the rise of specialised diets such as Keto, paleo, plant based and gluten free diets exploring recipes and their nutritional value for people with health issues and religious beliefs.
Finally, students have been examining new technologies in the food industry such as 3D food printing and robotic cooking and how this has impacted consumers, society and the environment. In the practical component of this courtse, students have been creating dishes like cauliflower pizza, acai bowls, falafel kebabs, and Notella crepe cakes which have been the go-to meals when teenagers go out with their friends to share a meal and socialise.
