Principals Report

As we wrap up Term 4 and reflect on the year at Georges River College Hurstville Campus, I am filled with pride for all that we have accomplished together. This year has been marked by growth, resilience, and a strong sense of community that underpins everything we do.

Our students have excelled across a broad range of pursuits—whether achieving academic milestones, showcasing their talents in the arts or representing the school in sports. Each success, big or small, is a testament to their hard work and determination.

Behind these achievements is a dedicated and passionate team of staff, alongside the unwavering support of our families. Together, we have worked to create a learning environment where every student is encouraged to aim high, take on challenges, and discover their potential.

As we look to the year ahead, let us celebrate not only the successes of 2024 but also the valuable lessons learned, and the connections strengthened within our school community. Thank you to every student, parent, and staff member for your contributions to making GRC Hurstville Campus a place of excellence, care, and opportunity.

Coeducational Setting

Throughout 2024, we have been working hard to get ready for our transition to a coeducational school. This has included upgrading facilities, planning new curriculum options, and adding more electives to make sure we are ready to welcome and support our first group of girls. Our planning has been focused on creating a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

We are excited to welcome our first coeducational Year 7 group in 2025. With all the work we’ve done this year, we’re confident we are ready to support every student in this new chapter for our school.

Part of our preparations has included important upgrades to our facilities. We’ve added new toilets and change rooms for both boys and girls in several areas, including girls’ toilets in F Block, D Block, and the Year 7 area of A Block. We’ve also created a new landscaped sandstone area outside A Block, providing a welcoming outdoor space for our students.

Mulga Painting

Mulga is a renowned Australian street artist, muralist, and illustrator Joel Moore, known as Mulga, has completed a stunning mural to enhance the space for our support unit students. The vibrant, summer-inspired artwork, featuring tropical imagery and playful characters, now transforms the area around C Block. Inspired by the thriving small rainforest plants in the space, Mulga's creation has brought colour and energy to the area, providing a beautiful and uplifting addition for our students to enjoy.
