Playing, Making and Creating!
This term in the Music Faculty; Year 7 concluded their piano studies and took a stab at creating some original music using Chrome Music Lab, Year 8 also concluded their Guitar studies and began to craft their own Raps. Finally, Year 9 continued their studies on the topic of Jazz Music.
This term:
Year 7 students performed their keyboard pieces and began working with Chrome Music Lab.
Year 8 students performed their guitar pieces and began working in pairs to craft their raps.
Year 9 Elective Music students began their new topic of Jazz Music looking at the Jazz Standard ‘Birdland’.
The Small Ensemble this term has continued working on the classic theme ‘Sesame Street’ with its jazzy influences the ensemble has been practicing hard in preparation for Yr.10 Graduation and Yr. 7-9 Presentation days. Once again, we’d like to remind parents and students that it is never too late to join the band or start to learn an instrument, if you are interested, please see Mr. Wilmshurst for more details of how you can join one of the bands in 2025.
The Rock Band has continued to grow and learn this term and we hope for new members to join in 2025.
Finally, a reminder to all parents about the Creative Kids vouchers, the NSW Government based assistance program. Parents and carers can apply for vouchers with a value up to $100 per calendar year for each student aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled at school. These vouchers should be renewed for the calendar year of 2025 and can be used to support your son's creative development.
