Salvation Army Concert - 'Christmas Proms'.
On Friday the 25th November, the Salvation Army ran its first Christmas Proms in the school hall. The band was made up of brass players from Christchurch and items ranged from solos with band accompaniment to carols with the audience joining in to sing. Local student MacKenzie Hallberg sang two items "Something Stupid and Piano Man", accompanying himself on the guitar and harmonica. Our amazing school rock band 'Unqualified' also performed two own compositions. A special highlight occurred during one of the Salvation Army pieces where they invited drummer Jordan Baker to come play a samba with them. Lots of laughs, singing and candy canes were shared during the night. A special thank you to local Salvation Army member Gavin for organising the event and to Kyle Hseish who came and helped set up lights and sound for the night.
