Year 9's visit Council Chambers to learn about career pathways in local government
Mr De Goldi took his 9F Rapuara Careers Module class to the Grey District Council Chambers to hear about the pathways into the wide range of occupations available in local government.
Carrie Vaughan of the Mayors Taskforce For Jobs organised the event and presenters included Mayor Tania Gibson, Chief Executive Paul Morris, and Group Manager Operations Aaron Haymes.
They also heard from a number of former Greymouth High students who are now working for the Grey District Council and their pathways into their current roles.
This was the first of what we hope will be a regular part of the Year 9 Rapuara Career Pathways Module. The purpose is to let our students know what jobs are available in our local community and in particular in local government. Students also get to hear how our former students moved from GHS into their current work roles.
