University of Otago Teenage Sleep Survey

Jane Wellard —

Later School Start Times? Have Your Say....

Teenage Sleep Timing Matters

We’d like to find out more about your views on later school start times (no earlier than 9:45am) for Year 12 and 13 student’s sleep health and wellbeing.

Click the link below to access our short University of Otago research survey for students (age 16+), parents, teachers and principals, and Board of Trustee members of NZ high schools. The research is funded by Cure Kids and the study has been approved by the University of Otago Human Ethics Committee #22/105. https://blogs.otago.ac.nz/teensleep/

Further enquiries, please contact teensleep@otago.ac.nz

Lastly, we're eager for any suggestions you might have to help us achieve broader participation of these surveys. Previous attempts to engage schools directly in this research have not been very effective…but we're trying again. We are more than willing to answer any questions your school may have about this research or the broader programme about teen’s sleep and school start times. All our research trains postgraduate students for their careers ahead.

If you wish to see the student/parent/BoT surveys, before making a decision – please reach out to us, we would be more than happy to send them on. Alternatively you can enter these surveys through the links above but be sure to state in one of the comment boxes that the entry is for school viewing purposes only.
