Our last week with our senior students

We had such a great week with our Year 13s. Lots of dress ups, a final assembly and of course their final day of toga dress up and water fights. We also had some amazing, clever pranks! My room got glad-wrapped and the senior leadership room was covered in balloons. The students somehow managed to fill hundreds of cups in one of our corridors! So clever and so funny! The top quote from one of the pranksters was " I gave myself a brain hemorrhage with those balloons - by 700 morale was low and we were wondering who was really being pranked." Quote of the year! (See photos below). A big 'thank you' to the Fire Brigade for their help in making the water slide so good.

West Coast Trades Academy (WCTA) Prizegiving - 4th November

I had the best time attending and speaking at our West Coast Trades Academy Prizegiving. I am so proud of our students. I would like to thank Tania Washer for her amazing work with West Coast Trades Academies - it is truly inclusive. I especially loved the awards for our new Employment and Life Skills course which is the only one of its kind in the country for students who need some extra support with their learning. The course has focused on building self confidence and self belief in each student, to enter the world of work or further training. Everyone deserves to have amazing opportunities and we at Greymouth High School are really happy to support this!
