Year 9 visits to Arahura Marae

I was so fortunate to join both groups of year 9s to Arahura Marae. We were welcomed onto the marae with a beautiful pōwhiri from Ngāti Waewae. The year 9s were supported by our pūnmanawa and also some of our rangatahi from Ngā Here Kahiketea. I would like to thank our Head of Department Lindsay Robertson for all of his great organisation and, with the support from his team, the days went smoothly.

Professional Learning Development with Ngāti Waewae

We have received funding from the Ministry of Education to develop our connections with Ngāti Waewae. We have created a google form for our rangatahi, our kaiako and our whānau and we will be sending that out in the near future.

Cobden Bus

We are continuing to try and come to a solution for our Cobden bus rangatahi. The situation has gone right up to the MInister for Education. We have also been working with our Mayor and most recently TVNZ to highlight our concerns. You can see on our Facebook posts the photo of myself and some of our rangatahi freezing in the carpark by Cobden bridge. That photo was not staged - it was absolutely freezing. For more information please check out our Facebook and Instagram pages.

SPAM

We have been told that some parents are not getting emails from us and that they are going into their SPAM folder. Please check your SPAM folder to see if this applies to you and click on "not spam" so they will now come to your inbox. Also, make sure that you have added us to your contacts. Hopefully, this will sort out any issues. Thank you.
