Waharoa ki te Māwhera kura tuarua
Samantha Mortimer. - June 13, 2022
On Friday 10th July we held a mihi whakatau to welcome Michael Rarere and his supporters at our whāre. Michael presented us with a document of the full purākau of our waharoa at the front entrance describing each carving and the meaning behind it. This time was an amazing opportunity for the new senior leadership team and new students of Ngā Here Kahikitea to hear these purākau which allowed us to become more connected to our kura. These purākau sit alongside our carvings on our whāre.
We absolutely appreciate Michael’s visit and we will be sharing the purākau with our community in the near future.
