Welcome to Term 4, week 3

We have had a busy start to the term with continuing sports events such as Junior Futsal held at South Western Area School and the Science Roadshow. Please have a read about other events below.

Young Enterprise Scheme

Congratulations to The Patch of Life who went to the Regional Awards. Our congratulations also go out to Papa Taiao, one of the West Coast programmes who won three out of the four awards including the top award of YES West Coast Regional Winners. Many of our Grey High rangatahi are part of this group and we are very proud of them.

Official opening of our courts by Hoops in Schools

Last week we had our official opening of our outdoor courts by Hoops in Schools through basketball NZ. We welcomed Ethan Rusbatch (Hawke’s Bay Hawks, Tall Blacks) and others from BB NZ and Sport Canterbury.

We had a beautiful welcome from Matua Joe, Whaea Kylie and some of our kapa haka students. It was very special to watch our rangatahi perform the school haka and a waiata. Afterwards our students were very lucky to have some coaching from Ethan and also picked up some great prizes.

National Chess Competition

Congratulations to Molly Meek, Aaron Coutts, Hamish Gunn and Ethan Parsons who had won our regional chess competition and represented our school at the National Chess Competition in Auckland last weekend. You made us all very proud!
