Senior Prize Givings

A quick reflection on prize giving. I know it wasn’t exactly what we wanted but it was still amazing! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the occasions as special as we could! The students were amazing and the year 13 event was really great with tables, buffet food and a lovely atmosphere.

Year 13 last day

Hopefully you saw the photos in the paper about the Y13 last day. It was such a fun time! The year 13 prank selling the school online was brilliant and I laughed so much. Very clever!

Thanks especially go to the Fire Brigade for sending the fire truck for the slip and slide - very much appreciated!

Quad Activities Days

Our thanks goes to Maddy Crawford who has organised four Quad days for our junior students (2 each for Year 9 and 10). A number of our junior students missed out on across-schools’ competitions this term due to Covid and when I talked to Maddy about this she ran with the idea of creating opportunities to do some fun and active things within school.

Our thanks go to the following people who came and supported us with running the activities:

  • Jack O'Connor - Sport WC - Hockey

  • Michael Cook - Development Officer for Rugby League, Ki o Rahi and Squash

  • Tommy Coutts - Development Officer for Cricket - plus Dave McTaggart and Lindsay Robertson

  • Ciaran Tangney, Marty McDonald - football

Feedback from Maddy for the first day was:

  • High level of engagement across all activities.

  • Those who did not want to do the activity still followed their team around to support them.

  • Good respect shown to our leaders.

  • Good support from other staff not timetabled to be there to oversee and enjoy the day as well.

  • Minimum behavioural issues.

  • Fantastic weather!

ACCORD DAY

A reminder that we have a Staff Only Day on Tuesday 30th November. School will be closed on that day.

COVID VACCINATION REGISTRATIONS FOR STUDENTS

Students

A reminder to please complete a Google Form to ask if your child/children has had their first or second vaccine dose, or is exempted from being vaccinated. This includes providing proof of vaccination or exemption so we can add it to our register.

IT IS NOT MANDATED THAT A STUDENT HAS TO BE VACCINATED TO ATTEND SCHOOL

Have a fantastic Westland Anniversary Weekend
