Kia ora koutou

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou

We are now right into Term 2! We have had lots of things going on on top of the amazing work our rangatahi are doing in their classes.

  • First XV rugby, squash and badminton

  • Our first face to face parents evening of the year (following all of our health and safety measures)

  • Our Year 9s and 10s have watched SMASHED which is a performance that communicates important information and facts about alcohol and shows the potential impact of underage drinking on; relationships with peers and adults; academic results and aspirations; anti-social behaviour and violence as well as accident and injury.

  • Our Year 10s had the amazing opportunity to take part in Te Haerenga Digital Roadshow which gives them exposure to new Digital Technology, connecting gaming with the world of work. As well as develop an understanding of careers and pathways aligned to digital technology, coding and eSports.

  • Pink Shirt Day - including Anti-bullying activities around school.

  • Our Accord Day with our teachers getting together with our colleagues across the Coast to work on the new NCEA standards and share good practice.

Although reading the list above it feels like we are moving towards some form of “normality.” However, we are still being affected by COVID and a number of staff and students are still off school. We still need to work hard to ensure that all of our students attend school when they are well and/or not isolating and we appreciate your support with this. If you need any extra support please let us know through the office or by contacting Kiri Russell our Kaitakawaenga (Home-School Partnership Promoter)
