On Friday 14th May, students from Greymouth High School joined others from Buller High School, Westland High School and Karamea Area School for the Fishing Industry Big Day Out, organised by the West Coast Trades Academy.

The day out gave the students the opportunity to learn about training and job opportunities in the Fishing Industry. A huge thanks to North Beach Fishing, Westfleet and The Deep Sea Fishing School for welcoming our students and sharing your valuable expertise. The day was interactive, exciting and inspiring. 

A 1 week course is now open for enrolments, which will take place during week 10 of term 2, at The Deep Sea Fishing School. This week long course is being coordinated by The West Coast Trades Academy. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering credits at L2/L3 of NCEA and giving students the chance to further their learning about the industry
