There are a range of competitions available to students of Greymouth High School. Please see below for individual competition dates and prices. All competitions are submitted electronically. Please contact Mrs Coutts (couttss@greyhigh.school.nz) if you are interested in taking part.

University of Otago Junior Maths Competition is open to year 9-11 students. Students will have one hour to answer a range of multiple choice and short answer questions. Competition Date: 27-31 March AND 5 May. Enter by 27 March. Cost $5

Australian Mathematics Trust

These competitions are available to students in years 9-13.

• Computational and Algorithmic Thinking Competition (Competition Date: 4-6 May)

• Australian Mathematics Competition (Competition Date: 3-5 August)

For each competition, students have one hour to complete 30 multiple choice and short answer questions.

Enter by 14 July. Cost $8 each or $13 for both competitions.

University of Canterbury Kiwi Competitions in English, Science and Mathematics. These competitions are open to students in year 9&10. The questions are skills based and closely align with the New Zealand Curriculum. Cost $9.90 per competition. Enter by 12 May.

ICAS

The maths competition will be held about the 28 August to 1 September. This competition is open to years 9-11. Cost is $20.70. Enter by 17 July.
