Science Academy 2023.
Otago University.
Year 12 student, Nikau Dymond, (pictured second from the top on the right) has been successful in applying for the Science Academy’s 2023 cohort (what used to be called OUASSA). He will join 55 other students from schools all over New Zealand attending two one-week long science camps (January & July 2023) and participate in our in-line science communication programme between camps. This year the Science Academy had 1.7 applications for every 1 place available, so Nikau has done exceptionally well to gain a place. Earlier this year Nikau was also successful in getting into the final round of NZPMC (New Zealand Physics and Mathematics Competition) at Canterbury University on the 14th July. Nikau was the only student from the West Coast to get to the final round and put in a good show.
