based at Shantytown, Greymouth

Would you like to work in an environment where no two days are the same? Where you get to make a difference in the education of our tamariki? A part-time (approximately 15 hours per week)third educator is required at for 12 months, to compliment the teaching team within Shantytown’s expanding education centre.

Marsden Valley Education Centre provides hands-on learning experiences, for visiting classes from Karamea to Haast and throughout New Zealand. Traditionally focusing on the Victorian era and experiences common to gold field life on the West Coast during the 19th century, our Learning Experiences Outside of the Classroom (LEOTC) contract with the Ministry of Education has recently encouraged the development of a suite of programmes inclusive of West Coast historic industries and way of life through to current educational themes based on the key competencies. A range of over 36 programmes are delivered to classes from Year 0-13, on and off site.

Preferably the new educator will have a teaching qualification, teaching experience or an interest in teaching and the strength to continue the growth of the centre.
